Thanksgiving Road Trip!

Well, Eric, Tobin and I started our road trip up north on Monday night and our first stop was San Luis Obispo(our old stomping grounds which we miss very much). It was a good thing we got in late because we had to sneak Tobin into the hotel. Eric wrapped Tobin up in a blanket like a baby and we went through the stair well. Other than needing to sniff the entire room, Tobin was a wonderful guest. Tuesday morning we had a nice breakfast downtown and could not leave the area without buying baby a Cal Poly onesie. We have not been able to buy any clothing because of the fact that we are waiting to find out what we are having so it was fun to buy a little something.

We were then off to Philo to spend Thanksgiving with Eric's family. On our way we stopped in San Francisco to take a picture next to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was nice to stop every now and then to stretch since the drive was so long...

Before we knew it we arrived in Healdsburg and stopped to visit the Hart Family (Eric's sister Debbi's Family). We do not get to see them very often so it was very nice to see everyone and catch up. Tuesday evening approached very quickly so we continued on to finish the drive up to Eric's dad's house. We checked into our quaint hotel which was lovely and then went to see Eric's dad. Laura (Eric's sister) who lives right next door to Eric's dad joined us as well and we had a very nice visit.

Wednesday morning we went over to the Cannons (Eric's sister Laura's house) for breakfast. We visited for awhile and had a little play time with Vivian as well. I was able to read to her and Eric was teaching her how to be gentle with Tobin and give him his treats! It is always so nice to visit with Eric's family because we tend to miss them often because we only see each them a couple times a year. We are very excited for Cannon baby #2 to arrive....Laura is due only a couple months before me so all of the little cousins will be great friends. Later on in the day we met up with Debbi and Allison to go shopping. Eric treated us to Cinnabon (yum) and we found Allison a very cute outfit for a tap dance that she will be doing to the song "Let it Snow". We had a great time but I think we wore out our driver quite quickly...he was a trooper.

Thanksgiving had finally arrived and I tried to eat very little for breakfast so I could save my appetite for the fabulous dinner that was to come. Eric's dad along with a little bit of help made an amazing dinner and everyone enjoyed everything (especially the sweet potatoes). We had a full house so we were able to visit with the entire family all together. Vivian was too little last year to take the first bite of the drumstick, but she definitely had her chance this year and made a great start to this years Thanksgiving Dinner!

Friday we left Philo in the afternoon and we started our drive back towards home. We wanted to spend another evening in the San Luis Obispo area on the way back and fortunately we received a lovely invitation to stay with my very good friend Jamie and her boyfriend Trevor for the night. Before we met up with Jamie and Trevor, Eric and I went to one of our favorite spots (Firestone's) for dinner and walked around Downtown for a little while. When we met up with Jamie and Trevor we had a nice time catching up and then relaxed and watched a movie. Saturday morning we got up and decided to go have breakfast in Avila Beach since the weather was so nice. It was so nice to see Jamie and Trevor...

Our last stop was my parents house in Calabasas and I was very excited to see them...I think it had been over a month since we had seen them last. Unfortunately we missed my brother because he had to head back to San Diego early- I am sure we will see him soon. We had a really nice time with my parents; we had a great dinner and then went back to the house to watch movies. Today we headed home to San Diego and it is very nice to be home after being gone for 6 days. It is is back to reality....

We're glad you're back home safely! It was so much fun having the two of you here, and finally getting to meet Tobin! He's such a sweetie, and Vivian just loved playing with him! (I notice you didn't mention Eric making Vivian cry because he wouldn't let her eat a dog treat!)I'm just sorry that your visit couldn't have lasted longer. Love to you all!
